Bain & Company is expanding its energy transition modelling team to drive innovative solutions for clients. As a Quantitative Energy Analyst, you will play a key role in delivering economic insights and supporting the development of INTERSECT, Bain's proprietary Carbon and Energy Transition modelling capability.

About the Role

This is a dynamic client-facing role where you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide quantitative assessments of future energy pathways. You will be responsible for running model simulations, building new modules and contributing to the construction of supply and demand forecasts for different technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the growth of Bain's energy transition modelling capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain complex economic models, including CGE models.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their energy transition challenges and develop tailored solutions.

You will report to an experienced economic modeler and have opportunities to engage with senior leadership and expert senior managers to develop your career.

Requirements

  • A post-graduate degree in economics or econometrics, preferably with a focus on energy economics or natural resource economics.
  • Strong experience of coding equilibrium models and optimization problems, ideally in GAMS.
  • Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Fluency in verbal and written English.
