What You'll DoWe're seeking an experienced Head of Fermentation to lead our bioprocess development. You'll oversee all fermentation activities, managing scale-up from lab to commercial production, and coordinating technology transfer between teams and external partners. This role combines cutting-edge experiment design, data interpretation, and strategic communication with senior stakeholders.
Responsibilities- Lead the fermentation team, translating overall strategy into objectives and tasks
- Manage process scale-up from lab to commercial, ensuring sustainable process development
- Design and analyze experiments, interpreting data to drive process understanding and optimization
- Coordinate cross-team collaborations, including with external partners and suppliers
- Develop standard operating procedures and contribute to patent filings
- 5+ years of hands-on industrial fermentation experience
- Relevant education (PhD or MSc) in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related field
- Industrial expertise with scale-up of fermentation processes (from lab to full commercial scale bioreactors)
- Extensive experience in setting up and running fermentations at lab scale
- Proven ability in interpreting scientific data and a solid understanding of statistics
- An effective communicator skilled in translating scientific data into actionable decisions
