Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced researcher to join our team as a Chromosome Biology Specialist at the Center for Chromosome Stability (CCS) at Københavns Universitet (KU).

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in biochemistry, cell biology, biophysics, protein chemistry or a related discipline, with a background in DNA replication or repair, mitosis, cell cycle or another area of chromosome biology.

The position involves analyzing the mechanical properties of native human chromosomes using optical tweezers and investigating the effects of manipulating enzymes that alter the mechanical properties of chromosomes in human cells.

  • Key responsibilities include analyzing data from experiments, designing new experiments to test hypotheses, and presenting research findings to colleagues and peers.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong publication record, excellent communication skills, and fluency in written and spoken English.

The CCS is a Center of Excellence funded by the Danish National Research Foundation, and its mission is to advance our understanding of how chromosomal instability causes human disease.
