Quality Assurance Inspector - MEP Systems

At the Køge Hospital Project Team I/S, we are seeking a seasoned Quality Assurance Inspector - MEP Systems to oversee the implementation of high-quality Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections and monitoring of MEP system installations to guarantee they meet the required standards and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Inspection and Quality Control of MEP Systems
    • Inspect MEP installations: Conduct regular inspections to ensure mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems are installed according to project specifications, codes, and approved drawings.
    • Monitor workmanship: Evaluate the quality of work performed by MEP contractors and subcontractors to ensure it meets required quality standards.
    • Assess materials and equipment: Verify that materials and equipment used for MEP installations comply with project specifications and quality control requirements.
  2. Review of Design Documents and Specifications
    • Review design documents: Analyze MEP drawings, designs, and technical specifications to ensure compliance during the construction process.
    • Identify deviations: Detect any discrepancies between the actual installation and the approved design and report these for rectification.
  3. Testing and Verification of MEP Systems
    • Witness and supervise tests: Oversee testing of MEP systems, including HVAC performance tests, electrical continuity and insulation resistance testing, pressure testing for plumbing systems, and fire safety systems tests.
    • Evaluate test results: Ensure test outcomes meet the project's acceptance criteria, codes, and standards, and address any failures with corrective actions.
    • Calibrate testing equipment: Ensure that all testing instruments and tools are calibrated and functioning properly.
  4. Documentation and Reporting of Inspections and Tests
    • Prepare inspection reports: Maintain detailed records of inspections, non-conformances, test results, and corrective actions.
    • Generate quality reports: Provide regular reports summarizing inspection activities, results, and observations to project management.
    • Document approvals: Ensure all necessary approvals from relevant authorities for MEP systems are obtained and documented.
  5. Ensuring Compliance with Regulatory Requirements
    • Verify code compliance: Ensure that all MEP systems meet local, national, and international codes and standards (such as NEC, NFPA, ASHRAE, etc.).
    • Obtain regulatory approvals: Ensure installations comply with regulations and that all required certifications, permits, and approvals are in place for MEP systems.
    • Coordinate with regulatory bodies: Collaborate with local authorities or third-party inspectors for site inspections and certifications for specific MEP systems.
  6. Collaboration with Construction Teams
    • Liaise with MEP contractors: Collaborate with contractors, consultants, and engineers to ensure quality standards are being upheld in the installation of MEP systems.
    • Provide technical guidance: Offer expertise to site engineers and workers on best practices and quality standards related to MEP installations.
    • Address quality issues: Identify and work with the construction team to resolve any quality-related issues in the installation of MEP systems.
Requirements:
  • Relevant Bachelor's and/or Master's degree.
  • 5+ years of experience.
  • Professional proficiency in English, both verbally and written.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, organize time and tasks efficiently, and be proactive.
  • Strong work ethic, positive team attitude, and high level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
