Position Overview

The Electrical Systems Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction by delivering exceptional service for Heidelberg System Service. This position focuses on maintaining and repairing equipment with a commitment to excellence, efficiency, and adherence to company policies and financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct troubleshooting and repairs within your area of expertise.
  • Assist with pre-installation assessments.
  • Install and configure equipment.
  • Prepare and execute customer demonstrations.
  • Provide sales support during customer interactions.
  • Specify and validate equipment configurations.
  • Review quotations and orders for accuracy.
  • Conduct final acceptance testing.
  • Support the sales of services, service contracts, and equipment.
  • Perform customer job tests.
  • Participate in local product launches.
  • Take on the role of Project Leader when necessary.
  • Stay informed about product, company, and industry developments.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a recognized engineering qualification (such as BTEC or City & Guilds) and have a diverse skill set in electrical, mechanical, and computer-based engineering. Experience in a production environment, both independently and as part of a team, is essential.

Authority and Reporting:

You will have the authority to independently order spare parts for ongoing service tasks and collaborate with the service coordinator to plan follow-up repairs and maintenance visits. Daily reporting to the service coordinator is required, along with service order, installation, time, and travel reports.

Internal and External Contacts:

  • Daily communication with the service coordinator and regular interactions with technical engineers, service supervisors, and sales teams.
  • Frequent contact with customers and third-party service partners.
