About the Job

We're looking for a Head of Product & Design to join our team. As a key member of our product leadership team, you'll be responsible for shaping the future of our product and driving its growth. You'll work closely with our CEO, CTO, and the rest of the product team to refine the product strategy and do hands-on shaping.

In this role, you'll have a mix of leadership and product management responsibilities. You'll lead the product team (40%), acting as a Product Shaper (60%). Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Driving long-term product discovery and refining the product vision
  • Setting and following up on objectives and key results (OKRs)
  • Taking care of our designers and shapers, coaching them on effective discovery and product development
  • Ensuring their ongoing development and setting them up for success
  • Working on systems for continuous discovery and ensuring a steady stream of input for the shaping process
  • Acting as a Product Shaper, identifying, exploring, mapping, and prioritizing opportunities
  • Figuring out the best solutions to given opportunities in collaboration with the product team
  • Validating solution ideas and conducting concept or usability testing to maximize the chance of a successful outcome
  • Keeping an overview of the impact of our work and ensuring continuous follow-up on projects and experiments

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need to have been building digital products for at least 5 years, with extensive experience diving into user pains and needs. You'll have worked with products used by thousands or millions of users, preferably based on self-service with a product-led motion. You'll also have experience delivering results through others, either through direct management experience or leading teams in a less formal capacity.

You should be able to think in terms of outcomes, not caring about the amount of features shipped but only about the impact on customers' lives and the future of our business. You should have a big curiosity to figure out how things work and why people act as they do. You should question your own intuition and be able to split up what's known and what's hypotheses.

You'll need to have a data-driven and systematic approach to your work, managing a large amount of inputs and unknowns. You should be a good writer and an eager learner, easily getting inspired by books and accumulating knowledge about the business, market, and customers.
