What You'll Do

We're seeking a highly skilled Downstream Process Engineer to lead the development and implementation of new and existing downstream processes for our novel fermentation-based bio-manufacturing technology. As part of our process engineering team, you'll work closely with our team of experts to design, optimize, and scale up processes for acetic acid production.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and optimize processes for the efficient separation and purification of acetic acid from fermentation broth, leveraging innovative techniques to enhance yield and purity.
  • Lead the scale-up of downstream processes from pilot to full-scale production, collaborating closely with process teams and external partners to ensure seamless technology transfer.
  • Ensure that the downstream process meets industry standards, developing and implementing quality control protocols to monitor process efficiency and product quality.
Requirements
  • Practical experience in downstream process engineering, with a focus on drafting ideas, formalizing design, and commissioning biotechnological equipment.
  • Collaborative and communicative, with the ability to work closely with suppliers, scientific teams, and management.
  • Creative and open-minded, with a willingness to challenge conventional approaches and drive innovation.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience in overseeing the implementation of upscaling processes.
Preferred Requirements
  • An education in process engineering, chemical engineering, biotech engineering, or a related field, with practical experience in developing and optimizing biological processes.
  • Extensive experience in downstream processing, particularly in membrane separation and liquid-liquid extraction techniques.
  • Experience in designing and building biotech process equipment.
  • A focus on delivering exceptional results and a passion for driving innovation.
  • At least 5 years of experience in downstream process engineering, with a strong track record of delivering results.
