About the Position

The Department of Sports Science and Clinical Biomechanics at the University of Southern Denmark invites applications for a professor position in Movement Practices to be filled as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities

">
  • Lead large innovative research projects, strengthening the profile within humanities and/or social sciences, specifically in embodied experiences and movement practices in sports, health, and/or performing arts.
  • Support the strategies of the Faculty of Health Sciences and SDU, contributing to knowledge transfer to society, administrative responsibilities, and teaching/supervising students at all levels.
  • Mentor PhD students and junior faculty members, refining and developing curriculum on education programmes hosted by the Faculty of Health Sciences.

Qualifications

">
  • A PhD degree within movement practices with an international leading research profile in relation to embodied experiences and movement practices.
  • A sustained and sizable high-quality research output in national and international peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, and books.
  • Experience and success with external funding, with a strong potential for successful fundraising of major projects.
  • A solid track-record of successful management of research projects or groups, and successful completion of PhD studies and externally funded projects.
  • Documented record of ample teaching and supervision experience at all levels relevant for the department's portfolio of study programmes.
  • Strong formalized pedagogical and didactic qualifications and skills, pedagogical leadership, and solid experience with study programme management and/or development course development and coordination.
  • Competencies to engage innovatively and across disciplines in knowledge exchange and collaborations with and for society.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is approximately 450,000 DKK per annum, plus benefits and bonuses based on performance and experience. The successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).
