Expert in Precision Polishing for Miniature Impellers

We are seeking an exceptional PhD candidate to join our team at Danmarks Tekniske Universitet (DTU) as a PhD Researcher in the field of precision polishing of miniature impellers.

The successful candidate will work on the development of manufacturing solutions for miniature impellers with high geometrical accuracy, low surface roughness, and deterministic micro topography features. This involves creating hardware and software tools that can generate these components in a single machine without additional manufacturing steps.

• Develop digital twin models of parts, processes, and systems for efficient production lines
• Conduct extensive testing and validation of models' performance
• Characterize parts using high-resolution measurement techniques
• Collaborate with industrial experts from FANUC Europe GmbH on project development and implementation

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• A strong background in production engineering technologies and manufacturing systems for subtractive manufacturing
• Excellent knowledge of process monitoring, manufacturing metrology, FEA, CAD/CAM, and programming tools such as Matlab
• Good analytical and communication skills in English

The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union. The period of employment is 3 years.
