We are looking for an experienced Claims Director to join our team, managing all aspects of claims involving various coverages. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the most favorable terms within Risk Management including Maersk Insurance A/S.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop a full understanding of the business model, risks, and exposures for Terminals and LnS products
- Manage claims involving Property Damage, Business Interruption, Terminal Operator's Liability, Freight Service Liability, and Construction All Risk
- Monitor and track progress of insurance claims, manage coverage disputes, and perform compliance procedures
- Collaborate with TPAs to ensure proper claims adjustment and resolution of issues
- Lead engagement with local and regional claim handlers globally, provide guidance and support, and share best practices
- Drive compliance and communicate standardized claim handling processes to BU stakeholders
- Liaise with regional CFOs on progress and financial impact of claims
- Pursue recoveries against third parties of claims covered by insurance
- Serve as the department subject matter expert and super user of the Risk Management Information System (RMIS)
- Oversee other claims as assigned by Head of Claims
- Support management in ad hoc assignments and development
- Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Business, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in claims management within the maritime or transportation industry
- Strong understanding of various insurance coverages and claims processes
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Proficiency in Risk Management Information Systems (RMIS) is a plus
The estimated annual salary for this position is between $150,000 and $200,000, depending on experience and qualifications. We offer a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
