We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as an Environmental Sustainability Intern. This is an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience in the field of environmental sustainability and contribute to our mission of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting sustainable development.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on various projects related to green energy solutions, including:
- Actively participating in data collection and information gathering related to green energy solutions in Country Offices;
- Drafting business cases for renewable energy solutions, including hybrid solar PV systems, energy efficiency, and e-mobility;
- Providing guidance and remote technical assistance on energy efficiency solutions to Country Offices;
- Assisting in the installation of IoT (internet of things) energy sensors for assigned projects across the organization;
- Supporting the team in procuring green energy solution equipment, including market research, compilation of solicitation documents, and technical evaluation of proposals from bidders;
- Monitoring and operating (O&M) of installed solar PV and e-mobility systems across the organization;
- Participating in internal and external meetings as may be assigned by the supervisor;
- Contributing to the unit's documentation to support continuous improvement of processes, procedures, and templates;
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:
- Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (such as a master's programme, or higher);
- Have recently graduated with a university degree (as defined in (a) above) and, if selected, must start the internship within one year of graduation;
- Experience or knowledge in the field of renewable energy engineering or electrical engineering is required;
- Technical knowledge of main renewable energy technologies is a strong advantage;
- Experience/knowledge in sizing Hybrid PV systems (with diesel generator) is a strong advantage;
- Knowledge of software tools for hybrid renewable energy systems is an advantage;
- Fluent in written and spoken English is mandatory.
