We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at Environment for Development. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a project examining the environmental impacts and developmental challenges related to e-waste in African urban settings.
About the RoleThis two-year position, starting in April 2025, will involve conducting econometric analysis on e-waste and waste management in African cities. You will work with satellite imagery and survey data specific to African contexts, collaborate on disciplinary and interdisciplinary research addressing both environmental and economic aspects of development in urban Africa, and communicate findings to local stakeholders in relevant African countries.

The ideal candidate holds a PhD degree in Economics specializing in Applied Microeconomics, Environmental Economics, or Development Economics. You should have strong econometrics skills, experience with applied economic research, proficiency in working with satellite images and survey data, and demonstrated interest in the developmental and institutional challenges facing African cities, particularly waste management issues.

Compensation and BenefitsThe salary for this position is estimated to be around $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. We also offer a range of benefits, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
