Århus, Århus Kommune, Denmark Aarhus Universitet Full time

Aarhus University invites applications for a position as a Research Scientist in Spatial Transcriptomics in Cancer at the Department of Biomedicine. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of new techniques and tools for analyzing gene expression patterns in cancer cells.

About the Research Group

The Laboratory for Gene-Regulatory Mechanisms in Cancer is a research group at the Department of Biomedicine, Aarhus University. Our goal is to explore the interplay between genetics, epigenetics, and non-coding RNAs in cancer development and progression. We use a combination of traditional molecular biology approaches and high-throughput technologies like RNA sequencing and NanoString CosMx technology.

About the Research Projects

Our research projects focus on understanding the role of spatial transcriptomics in cancer pathobiology. We aim to unravel the mechanisms behind aberrant RNA expression in cancer and elucidate the functional roles of non-coding RNAs. This knowledge can be translated into clinical practice through large, well-annotated clinical cohorts.

Your Job Responsibilities

As a Research Scientist in Spatial Transcriptomics, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting independent research of high international quality, including publication
  • Collaborating with colleagues within our group and external collaborators
About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled researcher who has a strong background in bioinformatics, gene-expression analysis, single-cell RNA sequencing, or spatial transcriptomics. You should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be fluent in English.
