About Transaction Banking & Tribes Area

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Risk & Controls Officer to join our team in the Transaction Banking & Tribes area, part of the Large Corporate and Institutions (LC&I) unit. The purpose of this role is to coordinate the work of the Business Controls and Product Management (BCPM) function, supporting, advising, and assisting the bank's business units in mitigating risks related to products, processes, and services across different risk areas/disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise business stakeholders on the identification, assessment, and management of key risks within their areas, covering Regulatory and Operational risks, including Conduct risks.
  • Act as a primary contact for key business stakeholders and other BCPM teams on risk matters, providing expert guidance and support on day-to-day risk issues.
  • Establish strong relationships with process and product owners, enabling them to navigate the complexities of risk governance and risk management requirements.
  • Support and advise the business on managing Internal Audit and Compliance observations, ensuring effective mitigation and resolution.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of key regulations and best industry practices for managing Regulatory and Operational risks, driving risk awareness and promoting compliance.
  • Contribute to Compliance monitoring reviews and Group Wide Risk Assessments (GWRA) within the Regulatory and Conduct risks area, ensuring accurate identification and management of Regulatory risk and Customer Impact.
  • Deliver high-quality risk assessments to support compliance and strategic goals across new and existing products, leveraging expertise and analysis to inform decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the Business to implement relevant Policies and Instructions, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and organizational objectives.

About You

  • You possess an analytical mindset, with a high focus on execution, structured approach, and attention to detail, able to adapt quickly to changes.
  • You can effectively engage stakeholders at all levels of seniority, building trust and rapport through positive communication and collaboration.
  • You demonstrate a high degree of integrity, solid work ethic, effective time management, and prioritization skills, with a minimum of 5 years of experience working with risk, compliance, or related areas from financial institutions or consultancy.
  • Experience with regulatory and/or operational risk management, as well as Enterprise Risk Management frameworks, is considered an advantage.
  • Advanced English language skills are essential for successful communication and collaboration.
