Associate Professor in Statistics

We are seeking a highly qualified Associate Professor in Statistics to join our team at the Faculty of Engineering and Science, Department of Mathematical Sciences. As an Associate Professor, you will contribute to methodological research in statistics, with expertise in one or more of the following areas: computational statistics, econometrics, continuous time stochastic processes, statistical genetics/bioinformatics, graphical models/Bayesian networks, and spatial statistics.
Responsibilities:- Conduct methodological research in statistics, with a focus on developing new statistical methods and techniques.
- Collaborate with colleagues from the Department of Mathematical Sciences and other departments at Aalborg University on cross-disciplinary research projects with an applied and/or strategic perspective.
- Teach mathematics and statistics courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including courses in mathematics/statistics, mathematics-economics, and mathematics-technology.
- Fund and secure external funding for research projects, including methodological research and more applied and strategic research activities.
- Hold a PhD degree in mathematical statistics, data science with a mathematical foundation, or a related area with a strong mathematical background.
- Have an excellent research record, including publications and research grants.
- Document teaching experience and formal pedagogical training.
- Present a strategy for future research and funding activities.
