Power Market Analyst

About the Role

As a Power Market Analyst at Ørsted, you will play a key part in advancing our capability to model the supply and demand dynamics of the north-west European power markets. Your main responsibility will be to develop fundamental power market models in our European footprint markets, leveraging your expertise in data analysis and software development.

Key Responsibilities

1. Developing Power Market Models: Develop and improve the robustness, speed, and scalability of our model and data pipelines using best software practices.
2. Enhancing Model Performance: Enhance the performance of the model with numerical methods and market understanding.
3. Addressing Market Changes: Address ongoing changes in power market fundamentals and respond to the needs across our trading function.
4. Enabling the Team: Enable the rest of the team with data and platforms to support our traders in effectively managing Ørsted's complex renewables portfolio.

Requirements

1. Programming Skills: Have programming proficiency in Python and general software development skills such as design patterns, coding good practices, object-oriented design, and clean code.
2. Cloud Experience: Have experience with deploying, scaling, and managing applications in the cloud.
3. DevOps Practices: Have practical knowledge of Git, DevOps practices, and reliability practices.
4. Data Pipeline Development: Have data pipeline development, data ingestion, and data transformation experience.
5. Solution-Oriented: Be solution-orientated and find motivation working in a data-driven trading environment.
