Senior Lecturer in Law of Obligations and Property/Academic Law

Aarhus University seeks an experienced academic to fill a full-time, permanent position as Associate Professor in the field of law of obligations and property/academic law. The successful candidate will contribute significantly to the faculty's overall research strategy and to the department's research and teaching environment within Danish and Nordic law of contracts and property/academic law.
Job DescriptionThe role involves making a significant contribution to the development of the subject area at the highest international level, including supervising PhD students and offering PhD courses. Additionally, the individual appointed to this position is expected to participate in internal and external conferences, workshops, networking, and research groups within the subject area.
The person appointed will be responsible for conducting research management within the subject area and contributing to the department's objective of increased external funding. They will also be required to enter into cross-disciplinary partnerships to develop teaching or research opportunities and attract external funding.
In addition to their research duties, the appointee will be expected to teach at all programs offered by the Department of Law, which include BSc in Laws, BSc in Business Administration and Commercial Law, Master of Laws, and others. The applicant must be able to teach in Danish.
Other responsibilities include planning, executing, evaluating, and further developing teaching, as well as taking on administrative tasks. The successful candidate will be expected to have profound knowledge of Danish and Nordic law of contracts and property/academic law, with a particular focus on labor and employment law.
RequirementsAppointment as an associate professor requires research and teaching qualifications at such a level that can be attained following a satisfactory period of appointment as an assistant professor within the subject area. Emphasis will be placed on both breadth and depth of the applicant's teaching and research activities.
The assessment will include documentation of original scientific production at an international level within the subject area, as well as the applicant's ability to apply, adjust, and further develop basic rules and concepts in new areas. The evaluation will focus on the applicant's ability to describe, analyze, systematize, and further develop the subject area.
