About the Position

The DTU Biosustain Center is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our interdisciplinary team working on the ecological role of secondary metabolites in microbial communities. We are looking for an expert with strong background in natural products, chemical ecology, and molecular biology.

Job Description

  • Investigate the biosynthetic gene clusters of actinomycetes isolated from CeMiSt sampling sites in Dyrehaven using advanced analytical techniques.
  • Develop and implement assays to assess the chemical ecology of secondary metabolites in shaping microbial communities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues at DTU Bioengineering to formulate scientific hypotheses and questions.
  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals.

Qualifications

  • PhD degree in a relevant field (natural products chemistry, microbiology, or related field).
  • Strong theoretical knowledge of microbial natural product biosynthesis.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with advanced analytical techniques (e.g., NMR, MS) and bioinformatics tools.
