Kongens Lyngby, Lyngby-Tårbæk Kommune, Denmark DTU - Technical University of Denmark Full time
About the Position

The PhD project will focus on developing numerical techniques to solve or alleviate the problems associated with modeling large magnetic interactions. You will work with our state-of-the-art open-source micromagnetic model, MagTense, which is based on a core implemented in Fortran and relies on the platform CUDA for parallelization of computations over multiple GPUs' cores.

You will research and realize numerical techniques that can alleviate the problems mentioned above, as well as simulate ideal structures of magnetic materials. Your developed methods will be published in the open-source MagTense framework and will be used in powering future beyond-state-of-the-art simulations within magnetism.

The position requires strong skills in numerical methods, programming languages such as Matlab, Python, and Fortran, and experience with coding, compiler, and software development. Additionally, experience with magnetism, e.g., from a BSc course in electromagnetism, is necessary.
