About the Role

We're seeking an experienced API Engineer to join our team at Holdbar. As a key member of our engineering team, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing our Public API, which will enable third-party integrations and extensions. Your expertise will be crucial in building a scalable and secure API that meets the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement the first version of our Public API
  • Create the first few integrations to external systems
  • Participate in building the Holdbar Developer Platform
Why a Public API?

We believe in building a simple, yet powerful system that fits the primary needs of experience businesses. However, we also know that requirements will differ. To allow our customers to tailor their Holdbar solution to their needs, we'll need our Public API, enabling third-party integrations and extensions. Our goal is to create a thriving developer community and ecosystem, with an open Application Marketplace, where we invite others to build and submit applications.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a person who agrees with our values, is curious but focused, loves to build and help others grow, and thrives in a social environment with equally ambitious colleagues. You'll be working directly with the CTO and the Product Team, and will be a central driving force in designing and implementing our Public API.

How We Work

We've adapted the Shape Up method, which works well in a small product-oriented team. This allows developers to get creative with implementations instead of having a project manager running a 'dev factory'. We value focused and Deep Work, and it's not frowned upon to simply arrive at the office, put on the headset, and get to work. But at the same time, we're all social people, and we know the strength of getting up and away from the screen, to have a chat about the projects, or just go for a walk and get some air while chatting.
