About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our Internal Logistics team at Rockwool A/S. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for optimizing and automating the flow of our semi-finished and finished products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cover the automation scope for our intralogistics technologies.
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and support software systems and utilize your ability in PLC, SCADA, and control systems.
  • Head the lifecycle of one of our intralogistics technologies, from designing, testing (FAT), installation, commissioning (SAT), and provide all documentation.
  • Communicate with suppliers and follow up to secure compliance with specific design needs and aligned with our company automation design guidelines & standards.
  • Participate in budgeting and crafting tender material for suppliers.
  • Collaborate closely with internal clients and stakeholders to understand their technical needs and requirements, providing technical expertise and support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Partner up with colleagues such as IT, mechanical and electrical teams to ensure seamless integration with overall system functionality.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in intralogistics technology, continuously enhancing your skills and knowledge base.
  • Contribute to maintaining our department as an inspiring and rewarding place to work by sharing knowledge, supporting your colleagues in their professional growth, and participating in developing and executing department strategies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering or related field; master's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of hands-on PLC programming experience. Advanced if within intralogistics solutions for the industry.
  • Experience with Siemens Simatic Manager.
  • Experience with Siemens TIA and WinCC version 7.5.
  • Ability in critical thinking skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Engaged collaborative spirit, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality results on time and within budget.
  • Excellent communication skills, and you are fluent in English, and perhaps you know other languages too.
