Environmental Policy Internship in Climate Resilience

Copenhagen, Copenhagen, Denmark Ramboll Full time

Internship Overview

We are excited to offer an opportunity for you to leverage your skills in climate resilience planning and engineering as you engage in innovative sustainable urban development initiatives. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about climate adaptation and currently pursuing a relevant academic program. Are you ready to join us as an Intern focused on Environmental and Climate Resilience Policy?

At Ramboll, we are providing an internship within our International Water and Climate Resilience division. As our new intern, you will collaborate with a dedicated team that partners with cities and governments worldwide, public utilities, and various asset owners to enhance their systems, infrastructure, and communities in preparation for future climate challenges.

Our work encompasses water management, climate change adaptation, and urban development throughout all phases of project execution. Our initiatives range from coastal storm surge defenses in major cities to innovative drinking water treatment solutions. We also engage in policy formulation, advising organizations on their roles in climate adaptation governance and investment planning.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering and Management: We seek a proactive and analytical student with a keen interest in environmental policy, climate governance, and sustainability financing. A multidisciplinary background (including but not limited to environmental management, international relations, and engineering) is highly valued. This role is suited for individuals who possess strong analytical, organizational, and leadership capabilities, along with effective communication skills. Content Development: Assist in crafting policy assessments, briefs, strategies, and white papers, while also contributing to project management initiatives focused on excellence, activity tracking, and resource planning. Communication: Support the creation of presentations, meeting documentation, workshop materials, and technical reports, ensuring clarity and professionalism in all communications. Project Administration: Aid in daily administrative tasks, including maintaining online platforms, organizing project files, drafting technical reports, and coordinating meetings.

All interns will engage in reporting, communication, and project management activities. This includes writing and proofreading reports, organizing stakeholder workshops, and assisting with overall project planning.

Your Path to Growth

From the moment you join Ramboll, we are committed to supporting your personal and professional development. For this role, we believe your foundation should include:

Enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program in a relevant field at an accredited institution.

To thrive in this position, the following personal attributes are essential:

Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Capacity to work independently while being an active contributor to team efforts. A genuine interest in water and climate-related issues, particularly in urban development contexts. Eagerness to learn and collaborate, coupled with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A structured approach to work with attention to detail. Proficiency in written and spoken English is required; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.

Throughout your internship, you will witness how Ramboll employees strive to deliver impactful solutions that benefit our clients, end-users, and society at large. As a leading consultancy in Europe, we prioritize the sustainability and usability of our work, ensuring long-term benefits for our clients and the communities we serve.
