Our company is focused on designing, building, operating, and maintaining low carbon district energy networks and building energy systems. We work closely with local authorities, developers, house builders, and property owners to deliver bespoke solutions that meet the unique needs of each project.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in the design and delivery of new energy projects during the pre-construction and construction phases, working collaboratively with the Hemiko team.
- Assist in the evaluation of project scope and design inception, ensuring that all aspects of the project are thoroughly understood.
- Undertake hydraulic and thermal modeling of systems using specialized software, such as Danfoss Leanheat/Termis.
- Design and implement medium to large-scale low carbon energy systems, heat distribution networks, controls, plant-rooms, thermal storage, and fuel storage.
- Produce detailed drawings, reports, and specifications, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Conduct surveys and evaluations of existing buildings' energy systems, identifying areas for improvement and recommending solutions.
- Assist in the production of viability and feasibility reports for energy systems, providing data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
- Coordinate the work of others and collaborate with engineers from other disciplines to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Provide regular on-site and off-site evaluations to ensure design compliance during the construction phase.
- Degree qualified in Mechanical, Building Services, or Energy Engineering.
- Highly numerate and with a comprehensive understanding of heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and fluid hydraulics.
- Competent in the numerate design of mechanical services for multi-apartment buildings.
- Involvement in energy center mechanical services design, such as district heating, CHP, and renewables.
- Experience in deploying low carbon energy sources, such as ASHP and GSHP.
- A broad understanding of energy legislation and compliance.
- Solid experience in designing district heating pipelines with associated components, including an understanding of the integration of pipelines on the supply and demand side.
- Ability to produce detailed schematic representations of LTHW, DHW, chilled water, ventilation, and control systems.
- Understanding of Heat and Utility Networks is desirable.
- Highly competent in AutoCAD.
- Experience in using Revit.
- Experience in using Construction Management platforms, such as Procore.
- IT proficient, with skills in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, email systems, and other software.
- Experience with hydraulic simulation in Danfoss Leanheat/Termis.
- Able to work as a member of a team.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, written and oral.
- Good organizational, time management, and planning skills.
- Creative, inquisitive, and enjoys solving problems.
- Willingness to question conventional design methods.
