Senior Pharmacologist in Molecular Pharmacology Research

The Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology at the University of Copenhagen invites applications for a 3-year postdoctoral research position in molecular pharmacology.
We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic postdoc with a strong profile in molecular pharmacology of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) to join our team.
About the Research ProjectThe project, titled "Pleiotropic effects — from drug targets to drug actions", is funded by the Independent Research Fund Denmark, Sapere Aude, and aims to characterize the interplay between naturally occurring variations in prominent drug targets and clinical phenotypes for personalized target and treatment selection using pharmacogenomics.
As a postdoc, you will work in the Molecular Pharmacology group led by Associate Professor Alexander S. Hauser, contributing to the development of novel pharmacological tools and approaches for personalized medicine.
About the GroupThe Molecular Pharmacology group focuses on harnessing the explosion of biomedical data in genomics, structural biology, and pharmacology to tackle some of the currently most sought-after questions in the GPCR field.
We work on the pharmacological and physiological characterization of GPCRs, from dissecting molecular mechanisms of action to understanding the physiological role and therapeutic potential of these receptors.
RequirementsWe are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic scientist with the following competencies and experience:
- PhD in pharmacology, pharmaceutical sciences or related science
- Highly experienced in mammalian cell culture
- Experienced in assay development and molecular pharmacological characterization of membrane receptors
- Demonstrated ability to independently learn new concepts and solve biological problems
- Proficient communication skills and ability to work in interdisciplinary teams
Working Conditions
The position is a fixed-term position limited to a period of 3 years. The starting date is December 1st 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The place of employment is at the Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology, University of Copenhagen.
