**Job Description:** We are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our team at DTU Energy. The successful candidate will focus on designing and synthesizing innovative materials for direct CO2 capture and conversion.
**Responsibilities:
- Developing new materials with integrated carbon capture and utilization capabilities
- Conducting comprehensive in-situ and ex-situ spectroscopic studies to investigate the underlying mechanisms governing the CCU processes
- Using state-of-the-art characterization techniques such as Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS), X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM)
**Required Skills and Qualifications:*
- A two-year master's degree (120 ECTS points) or equivalent, preferably in electrochemistry, organic chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment, demonstrating creativity and innovation
- Experience in experimental catalysis synthesis and reactor engineering design would be an asset
- Basic knowledge of Python, particularly for data analysis and automation, is desirable
- Fluent in both spoken and written English, demonstrating strong communication skills
