Job Description - Commodity Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Commodity Engineer to play a key role in supplier-related issues within our Supply Base Management engineering team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Qualify new components through thorough analysis and documentation
  • Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives to optimize mechanical part costs without compromising quality and reliability
  • Collaborate with global design teams to select suitable mechanical commodities for new designs
  • Maintain and update component information in the Teradyne PLM system
  • Manage obsolescence processes for mechanical parts that have been discontinued by manufacturers
  • Engage with suppliers on continuous improvement projects to enhance product quality and efficiency
  • Travel as needed to support engineering projects and interact with suppliers
  • A strong background in root cause analysis and process auditing is highly valued

Your Profile:

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in injection molding or mechanical engineering and possess at least 5 years of experience in related fields
  • Prior experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, especially in injection molding and mechanical manufacturing
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex technical data
  • Familiarity with industry-specific software and tools, including Solid Works, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English
