Nutritional Boundaries for Absolute Sustainability

We seek a highly motivated and independent PhD candidate to contribute to defining nutritional and environmental boundaries for absolute sustainability assessment of diets and food systems. The research project aims to bridge gaps between negative sustainability impacts and decision-makers' need for data-driven insights into the environmental and health consequences of food production and consumption.

As a PhD student, you will be part of our team at the Risk-benefit Research Group at the National Food Institute (DTU Food) and work closely with the Section for Quantitative Sustainability Assessment of the Department of Environmental and Resource Engineering (DTU Sustain). The 3-year period will include an external academic stay, and you will have the opportunity to engage in research, supervision, and innovation related to absolute sustainability assessment of food systems.

Your tasks will include carrying out independent research, scientific publication, and dissemination, as well as teaching. You will support the team with knowledge in environmental assessment and data science competences. Additionally, as a PhD student at DTU, it is mandatory to take courses of a duration of 30 ECTS during the 3-year period.

  • Collaborate with international partners to advance the field of sustainability assessment and food systems.
  • Communicate research findings effectively through scientific publications and presentations.
