About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Data Steward to join our team at Novo Nordisk A/S. As a Research Data Steward, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our data, collaborating closely with data owners and analysts to manage pre-defined domains of master data and metadata groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and address data quality or consistency issues across the company, working with diverse stakeholders and data owners.
  • Establish data management plans, including data quality and governance policies, and ensure adherence to standards.
  • Drive change management to influence the adoption of standardized vocabulary within regulatory, compliance, and safety guidelines.
  • Understand ETL processes to efficiently obtain internal and external data for analysis and integration into the organization's data ecosystem.
  • Communicate widely and train specialists and research scientists in data management processes, including registration of new metadata.
Requirements
  • MSc degree in life sciences or a related field, with 5 years of experience in biological or chemical data management.
  • Knowledge of data format standards, FAIR principles, and biomedical vocabularies and taxonomies.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language, with a preference for Python, and experience with cloud platforms AWS, MS Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience with metadata management, ETL processes, data governance, and stewardship.
  • Understanding of proteins and protein structures, and small molecules and their properties.

The Data Representation department aims to simplify data capture in early research using semantic models to establish interoperability across data sets. We drive the adoption of FAIR principles across the pipeline, ensuring the quality and consistency of data generated while showcasing strong gains from analytics models using clean data.
