About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cell Therapy Expert to join our team as a Junior Group Leader at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Stem Cell Medicine (reNEW). The successful candidate will lead an internationally competitive research programme within the field of stem cell medicine, with a focus on translational research.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a cutting-edge research programme in stem cell medicine, focusing on translational research and collaboration with other departments at the University of Copenhagen and clinical partners.
  • Supervise researchers and students, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional growth and development.
  • Pursue external funding opportunities to secure resources for research projects and programmes.
  • Contribute to the development of the Centre's translation strategy, working closely with other researchers and stakeholders.

About the Team:

The reNEW Copenhagen node is a vibrant and internationally diverse research centre, located in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen. Our team is committed to delivering innovative stem cell-driven therapies to transform the lives of people suffering from incurable diseases.

Requirements:

  • PhD or equivalent degree in a relevant field, such as stem cell biology, regenerative medicine, or a related area.
  • Postdoctoral training and experience in research leadership, supervision, and collaboration.
  • An outstanding track record of translational and interdisciplinary research, with a strong publication record and evidence of securing external funding.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
