Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as Head of Compliance. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring that compliance resources and tasks are organized efficiently for our three legal entities present in Denmark.

You will lead a team of four full-time employees and actively support the business and management to secure that SEB Denmark's business is carried out in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. This involves:

  • Providing strategic direction to management on compliance topics
  • Offering expert advisory services on compliance issues to individual business areas
  • Continuously assessing and evaluating compliance risks in SEB Denmark, and ensuring risks are properly addressed
  • Monitoring business areas in accordance with agreed monitoring schedules
  • Actively following local regulatory developments and participating in local compliance forums where appropriate
  • Participating in investigations of incidents
  • Developing a staff training strategy on compliance-related matters for employees in SEB Denmark
  • Reporting breaches of external or internal rules and routines to relevant local and global management, as well as regulatory authorities where necessary
  • Serving as the contact person for local regulatory authorities
  • Taking part in the preparation for examinations, investigations, and other activities performed by regulatory authorities
  • Being responsible for local financial and performance targets for Danish compliance activities
  • Closely cooperating with colleagues in the global Group Compliance function, providing local perspectives to common compliance processes
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • A master's degree in law or equivalent
  • Leadership and people skills, with at least 3 years of team management experience
  • At least 10 years of compliance expertise, particularly in AML/CFT, financial sanctions, MiFID, MAR, GDPR, ESG, and outsourcing, gained in a Danish financial institution
  • Relevant experience in compliance issues relating to regulatory requirements for corporate and institutional clients
  • Solid knowledge of financial products and instruments
