We invite applications for a PhD position that combines social data science, computer science, and transportation systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for mapping and analysing how mobility cultures vary across Europe and how they evolve over time in response to policy and technological changes.

You will work on developing and evaluating machine-learning methods for defining urban mobility culture typologies, collecting public data at the urban level for cities across Europe and performing big data analysis and visualizations. The candidate should have a strong foundation in statistical analysis and working experience with machine-learning methods.

As part of the doctoral network, you will participate in a joint interdisciplinary training programme organized by the participants of TRANSFORM.
