Commodity Broker

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Commodity Broker to join our team at Freight Investor Services Ltd. in Copenhagen, Denmark. As a key member of our brokerage team, you will play a crucial role in promoting FIS as a leading global broker of freight and commodities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Promote FIS's market intelligence and analysis to clients, fostering strong relationships and driving new business opportunities.
• Arrange physical or financial trades on behalf of clients for execution at relevant exchanges, leveraging your expertise in price risk management.
• Create liquidity and price discovery with various entities, including Exchanges, SI's, MTF's, clearers, prime brokers, and prop traders.
• Maintain and enhance existing client relationships, providing regular contact and tracking daily trading activities.
• Proactively solicit feedback from industry participants via trade calls, surveys, industry events, trade shows, and conferences.
• Identify and seize new business opportunities related to trends, future markets, products, and clients.
• Produce a daily/weekly report of market prices and market direction for international desks.
• On-board new clients following correct Compliance and Operations procedures.
• Regularly assess client needs and financial conditions to identify and pursue internal cross-selling opportunities.

Requirements

• Demonstrate experience in execution brokerage covering commercial clients (financial markets or the physical markets).
• Deep understanding of price risk management - essential.
• Willing to travel to visit clients - essential.
• Robust quantitative, presentation, and decision-making capabilities.
• Possess knowledge of Commodity markets – essential.
• Strong client focus; personable and engaging, building relationships and networks wherever possible.
• Degree in Economics or related degree – essential.
• Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues - essential.
• Tenacious and thrives in a pressured environment – essential.
• Team orientated; works well with others and diverse groups/personality – essential.
• Excellent attention to detail; strong analytical and numeracy skills – essential.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is approximately €80,000 - €120,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
