About the Position

We are seeking an experienced natural history collections specialist to join our team at the Natural History Museum of Denmark. As a key member of our conservation unit, you will play a crucial role in preparing objects for our new permanent galleries.

Job Description

The successful candidate will assist with planning and executing various object treatments, packing, transport, and installation of exhibits. You will work closely with our conservation team to develop and implement efficient workflows, ensuring the highest level of quality and attention to detail.

Your responsibilities will include investigating and developing new specimen preparation methods, managing and prioritizing a varied workload, and collaborating with exhibition groups to meet deadlines.

Requirements
  • Education as conservator or equivalent academic degree combined with relevant experience
  • Knowledge of remedial conservation of natural history objects, including taxidermy, skeletal preparations, paleontological, and fluid preparations
  • Experience working in large-scale collection moves
  • Ability to independently investigate and develop new specimen preparation methods
  • Good communication and writing skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a varied workload in an efficient and cooperative manner
