Forestry Professorship

The University of Copenhagen is seeking a distinguished academic to lead its research in forestry. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of internationally competitive research, teaching, and leadership.

We are looking for a professor who can contribute to the development of our forest science program and strengthen our department's research potential. Key tasks include conducting excellent research, developing the field, and assessing students. The successful applicant must also teach, supervise, prepare and participate in examinations, and fulfill other tasks requested by the Department.

The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Forestry or a related field, experience in using modern technology and analytic approaches in forest research, and strong communication skills. They should be able to engage in public outreach and policy advisory roles. Formal pedagogical training or supervision equivalent to the University of Copenhagen teacher training programme for assistant professors is required.

Assessment of applicants will primarily consider their level of documented, original scientific production at an international level, including contributions to developments in their field, as well as their documented teaching qualifications. Managerial and outreach qualifications of applicants including ability to attract external funding will also be considered.
