Postdoctoral Researcher in Mechanical Engineering for Composite Materials
1 week ago
The Faculty of Engineering and Science at Aalborg University invites applications for one or more postdoctoral research positions in Mechanical Engineering, focusing on composite materials and recycling processes. The successful candidate will be part of the EU Horizon Europe projects CIRCWIND and MADE4WIND, aiming to develop innovative technologies for wind turbine blades.
We are seeking a highly motivated researcher with a strong background in composite material science, experimental characterization of fibrous materials, and polymer recycling processes. Experience in developing test methods, fixtures, and data reduction schemes is also an asset. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills and be able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
The postdoc position involves conducting research on advanced composite materials and structures, damage mechanisms, and fracture mechanics. The candidate will focus on improving the recyclability and circularity of composite materials, exploring new resin systems for manufacturing and recycling composites, and developing novel experiments and associated data reduction schemes.
As a Postdoc in the CraCS Research Group, you will work closely with the project leaders and other researchers to achieve the project objectives. You will also contribute to teaching tasks within the general area of mechanical engineering, utilizing the Problem-Based Learning methodology from AAU.
