Are you a seasoned expert in precision motion control, with a passion for gears, motors, and electrical systems? Do you have a strong background in mechanical or electro-mechanical engineering, with a proven track record of driving cost-down initiatives and ensuring continuous quality and reliability?

Responsibilities

As a Commodity Engineer within our Precision Motion Control team, you will be responsible for:

  • Gathering and reviewing specifications of standard and divisional mechanical components
  • Facilitating specification reviews with suppliers and gathering DFM input
  • Supporting requests for information from contract manufacturers on Teradyne parts, components, and suppliers
  • Leading qualification of new components through Part Qual process and First Article documents
  • Analyzing changes to Teradyne products and driving cost-down initiatives
  • Traveling as needed to work on engineering projects and visit suppliers

Requirements

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced individual with:

  • 5+ years of experience in precision motion control, gears, motors, and electrical systems
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electro-mechanical engineering principles
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with fluency in English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Macros and Pivot Tables in Excel
  • Experience with supplier quality management and statistical quality controls
