Commodity Engineer

Are you a seasoned expert in precision motion control, with a passion for gears, motors, and electrical systems? Do you have a strong background in mechanical or electro-mechanical engineering, with a proven track record of driving cost-down initiatives and ensuring continuous quality and reliability?
Responsibilities
As a Commodity Engineer within our Precision Motion Control team, you will be responsible for:
- Gathering and reviewing specifications of standard and divisional mechanical components
- Facilitating specification reviews with suppliers and gathering DFM input
- Supporting requests for information from contract manufacturers on Teradyne parts, components, and suppliers
- Leading qualification of new components through Part Qual process and First Article documents
- Analyzing changes to Teradyne products and driving cost-down initiatives
- Traveling as needed to work on engineering projects and visit suppliers
Requirements
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced individual with:
- 5+ years of experience in precision motion control, gears, motors, and electrical systems
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electro-mechanical engineering principles
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with fluency in English
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Macros and Pivot Tables in Excel
- Experience with supplier quality management and statistical quality controls
