About the TeamOur team at Past Global Changes consists of international and dynamic researchers from various disciplines. We focus on the study of past climate and ecosystem changes in the marine Arctic.
Project OverviewThe Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland (GEUS) has collected marine sediment cores >200 m deep during an International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP) expedition off Northwest Greenland. We aim to investigate the microbiomes of the deep biosphere using these cores and further sediment samples from the Arctic Ocean.
Responsibilities- Lead the analysis of high-throughput sequencing data to understand microbial diversity and composition
- Design and execute experiments to collect and analyze sediment core samples
- Integrate findings into a comprehensive understanding of the deep biosphere
- PhD degree in a relevant field (Biology, Microbiology, Geosciences)
- Experience in molecular genetic lab work and taxonomic and functional microbial diversity analysis
- Knowledge of marine ecosystems and the deep biosphere
