About the Position
">Are you a motivated and experienced researcher in microbiology, biotechnology, or genetic engineering? Do you have a solid track record of research outputs and excellent communication skills in English?
This two-year position at DTU involves planning, conducting, reporting, interpreting, and disseminating research in bacterial bioengineering within the European project SYNFEED. You will work closely with academic colleagues at DTU and abroad, contributing to common activities such as co-supervision of student projects.
Responsibilities

- Investigate the diversity of environmental hydrogenotrophic bacteria and relate their growth performance to their genomic content">
- Develop strategies to engineer hydrogenotrophic bacteria as chassis for heterologous protein expression">
- Participate in common activities of the Research Group and the Department, for example via co-supervision of BSc and MSc student projects">
Requirements
">You should have a PhD degree (or equivalent) and experience in prokaryotic molecular microbiology, including cloning, recombineering, or other genetic/genomic engineering techniques. Bioinformatics skills for sequencing data analysis and cultivation and growth analysis of microbial cultures are also beneficial.
We are looking for a candidate with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a high level of motivation, and a willingness to work collaboratively.
About the Team
">You will join the Integrative Microbial Ecology Research Group led by Senior Researcher Arnaud Dechesne and interact with the other groups from the Section for Microbial and Chemical Ecology.
We offer a stimulating research environment, with recently renovated laboratory facilities and state-of-the-art equipment in molecular microbiology.
