We are excited to announce two PhD fellowships in Theoretical Quantum Optics and Quantum Information. These positions offer an exceptional opportunity for talented individuals to contribute to cutting-edge research and develop their skills in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Job Description

We invite applications for two PhD projects within the Hybrid Quantum Networks Centre of Excellence. The successful candidates will be part of a vibrant research community that combines theoretical and experimental approaches to explore the properties and applications of hybrid quantum systems.

The projects focus on developing theories and analyses for quantum networks of coupled few-level systems interacting with continuous wave beams and pulses of radiation. Additionally, we seek candidates interested in probing quantum systems using mechanical oscillator modes for sensing, control, and mediation of quantum states between different systems.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out independent research under supervision
  • Participate in active research environments, including collaborations with international teams
  • Contribute to the development of novel methods and techniques for investigating hybrid quantum systems

Requirements

To be considered for these positions, applicants must possess a strong background in quantum optics and quantum information science. Relevant publications and experience in theoretical or experimental atomic or solid-state physics, quantum optics, nanophotonics, optomechanics are highly valued. Strong programming skills and knowledge of deterministic and stochastic master equations, Gaussian approximations, and cumulant expansion methods are essential.

What We Offer

We provide a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits package, and opportunities for professional growth and development. Our team enjoys close collaboration with other research groups, ensuring a dynamic and stimulating work environment.
