Job DescriptionWe are seeking an exceptional postdoctoral researcher to join our astronomy group at Aarhus Universitet (AU). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research projects related to exoplanets and their host stars.
- Main Responsibilities:
- Detecting (weak) asteroseismic signals in solarlike exoplanet host stars using machine learning and/or noise mitigation techniques.
- Studying particularly interesting systems in detail.
- Investigating star-planet interactions for planets close to their host star.
The postdoc will work closely with other members of the Astronomy group at the department to achieve these goals.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you should have a PhD in astronomy or a similar field, as well as expertise in asteroseismology, astrophysical noise sources, machine learning, or star-planet interactions. Demonstrated ability to publish in relevant astrophysics journals and a strong oral and written proficiency in English are essential. Additional desirable qualifications include time management skills and the ability to develop and pursue new ideas.
