Geologist in Isotope Geochemistry Position
17 hours ago
The Department of Geoscience at Aarhus University invites applications for a postdoctoral position in isotope geochemistry of biomarkers.
About the ProjectThis position is part of a DFF-funded Sapere Aude project called BRAINSTORM, which aims to bridge the gap between orbital climate cycles and hominin evolutionary responses using novel leaf wax biomarker methods, machine learning, and evolutionary modeling.
Job Responsibilities- Develop new methods for low-concentration isotope analyses
- Generate high-resolution paleoclimate records
- Analyze and publish research findings
- Mentor students as part of the BRAINSTORM project
Candidates should hold a PhD degree in Earth Sciences, Geochemistry, Paleoclimate, Chemistry or similar, with experience in organic geochemistry and biomarkers as proxies for past climate and environment. Knowledge of organic isotope analyses and interest in method development and paleoclimate are advantageous.
BenefitsApplicants will have access to state-of-the-art laboratories, including the Biomarker Lab and sediment processing labs, and opportunities for professional development and networking.
Application ProcedureAarhus University uses shortlisting as part of the application process. All applicants will be notified whether or not their applications have been sent to an expert assessment committee for evaluation.
