About the Position

We are seeking an experienced statistician to join our Clinical Epidemiological team in Complications Research at Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen. As a member of our team, you will contribute to applied statistical research for longitudinal register and clinical data.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for independent research tasks, primarily within register research with a focus on developing, implementing, and applying statistical methods. Core elements of our statistical methodology include survival analysis, demographic methods, and medical risk prediction models.

In addition to research duties, the role involves supervision of junior colleagues and collaboration with other researchers in the department. There may also be opportunities for teaching internally and externally, including at the University of Copenhagen.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct advanced statistical analysis and modeling using R, R-markdown/R-weave, and SAS
  • Develop and implement statistical methods for longitudinal register and clinical data
  • Collaborate with researchers and clinicians to design and execute research projects
  • Supervise and mentor junior colleagues
  • Communicate complex statistical concepts and results to non-technical stakeholders
Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must have a strong mathematical and statistical background, equivalent to lecturer level (associate professor) at a university. You should also have experience with register research and a broad foundation in biostatistics beyond the epidemiological field.

Apart from technical skills, we value excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of 85,000 DKK per month, based on qualifications and experience. The weekly working time is 37 hours, with flexible hours and possibilities for part-time employment at the Section of Biostatistics at the University of Copenhagen.
