About the Job:

We are seeking an experienced Regulatory Affairs Specialist to join our team in the Nordic region. This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable food and product-related laws and regulations in accordance with internal processes and within assigned countries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assure ingredients, formulas, labelling, and packaging are in full compliance with laws and regulations as well as internal standards/policies in assigned markets;
  • Proactively monitor regulatory developments and activities in assigned markets; determine current and expected regulatory status of (new) ingredients and additives; research interpretations regarding the safety and acceptability of products and ingredients, and assure that SRA databases are up-to-date and contain the best current information;
  • Support external regulatory influencing strategy related to assigned countries/EU in a proactive manner; work with internal partners to understand priorities and impacts of developing legislation and align appropriate external positions; work with external partners to shape developing policy and legislation in line with aligned positions;
  • Participate on project teams, anticipate regulatory issues, and work with legal counsel, consultants, suppliers, trade associations, and other external partners to clarify and resolve these issues.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a technical area, such as nutrition, food science, biology, chemistry, or pharmacology; preferred: A Master's degree in a technical area, such as nutrition, food science, biology, chemistry, or pharmacology, or in food law;
  • A minimum of 4-7 years of experience in regulatory affairs with food products, preferably with focus on Nordic countries and Europe; this includes excellent knowledge of European food legislation;
  • Experience working with trade associations and government agencies to clarify and resolve regulatory matters is preferred;
  • Fluent English speaker, in addition to local languages.
