KU – SCIENCE – NBI, Blegdamsvej is seeking talented researchers to join our team as Postdoctoral Fellows in Gravitational Wave Physics. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in the field of theoretical and data analysis concerning black hole spectroscopy.
The successful candidate will be part of our vibrant research community at KU – SCIENCE – NBI, working closely with expert researchers in the field. Our team focuses on developing novel methods for LIGO data analysis, particularly for ringdown and its extensions in General Relativity.
We are looking for highly motivated candidates who possess excellent research skills, strong communication abilities, and a passion for advancing our understanding of gravitational waves.
To be eligible for this position, applicants must hold a PhD degree in Physics or a related field, with a strong background in general relativity, perturbation theory, and numerical methods. Experience with programming languages such as Python, C++, or MATLAB is essential.
The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work on various aspects of gravitational wave physics, including:
- Ringdown analysis using LIGO data
- Development of new analytical and numerical techniques for black hole spectroscopy
- Collaboration with other researchers in the field to advance our understanding of gravitational waves
We offer a stimulating work environment, access to state-of-the-art facilities, and a competitive salary package. The positions are open from 15th August 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter. The average weekly working hours are 37 per week.
