The Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology at the University of Copenhagen seeks a highly skilled Associate Professor to join our dynamic academic community. We are committed to interdisciplinary research and education, focusing on biopharmaceutical studies of peptide ligands that target protein function.
As an Associate Professor, you will be responsible for conducting original scientific work at the highest international level, with high ambitions in teaching development within the areas of peptide ligand discovery, biochemical and biophysical characterization of peptides and proteins, as well as investigations of protein folding.
Key responsibilities include:
- Research, including publication/academic dissemination to the scientific community and to the general public
- Develop, organize, and conduct research-based teaching, including associated examination, in relevant fields within the Department's education activities
- Research leadership, including guidance and supervision of researchers
- Engagement in outreach and/or innovation activities both within the Department and broadly towards academia, the clinic, and industry
- Attracting external funding
- Sharing of knowledge with the surrounding society
- Academic assessments
To be considered for this position, you must demonstrate strong documented scientific track records in the discovery of bioactive peptides, experience with biophysical protein characterization, in vitro and cell-based assays, and a track record in attracting external funding.
