Job Summary:

The Fire Sealing Activities Inspector will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality and compliance of fire sealing activities performed by two companies on-site. The role includes coordinating subcontractors to work in the site according to the project schedule; conducting inspections, verifying compliance with safety and building regulations, documenting findings and reporting to the Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspection and Monitoring: Conduct regular inspections of fire sealing activities on-site to ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes. Monitor and coordinate the work of two companies performing fire sealing activities to ensure adherence to project specifications.
  • Quality Assurance: Verify that all fire sealing materials and methods meet the required standards and specifications. Identify any deviations or non-compliance issues and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of inspections, including photographs and written reports. Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on the progress and quality of fire sealing activities.
  • Coordination and Communication: Coordinate with the Project Manager, site supervisors, and representatives of the companies performing fire sealing activities. Communicate any issues or concerns promptly to the Project Manager and relevant stakeholders.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all fire sealing activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations. Promote and enforce a safe working environment on-site.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in construction or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction inspection, with a focus on fire sealing or related activities. Proven experience in quality assurance and compliance inspections.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of fire sealing materials, techniques, and building codes. Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify issues and recommend solutions. Proficient in using inspection tools and software for documentation and reporting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in fire protection, construction inspection, or a related field are a plus.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work on construction sites, including standing, walking, climbing ladders, and working at heights. Ability to lift and carry inspection equipment and materials.
  • Additional Requirements: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel between sites. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, if necessary.
