Facility Design Engineer IMEA

The Facility Design Engineer is a key member of the Maersk team, responsible for designing and optimizing warehouse layouts to maximize space utilization and minimize bottlenecks. Working closely with cross-functional teams, this role requires a strong understanding of logistics and supply chain optimization.
Key Responsibilities- End-to-end ownership of engineering management of all construction projects, from pre-project to completion.
- Create and optimize warehouse layouts, including racking systems and material handling equipment, to maximize space utilization and minimize bottlenecks.
- Provide value engineering and innovative solutions to drive frugality and continuous improvements.
- Lead technical design reviews and propose design solutions that meet both business needs and global design standards.
- Collaborate with Global and Regional stakeholders to ensure timely Engineering resources allocated during the Investment process.
- Key link to Solution Design, Procurement, Delivery, HSSE, IT and other internal stakeholders.
- Ensure that warehouse designs and modifications adhere to all relevant safety and compliance regulations.
- Collaborate with suppliers and contractors to source and implement the necessary equipment and systems required for the warehouse projects.
- Create, submit and track relevant CAPEX requests (Capital Planning) to ensure that all projects are delivered within budget and best overall value.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of warehouse designs, project plans, and equipment specifications.
- Assess and communicate project status, drive escalations on potential risks and delays across multiple teams.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement best practices to enhance warehouse design and performance.
- Assist in providing equipment specifications and technical support to Procurement, Change Management and other business partners for best value and competition.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in engineering, architecture, building sciences or relevant subjects.
- Verifiable experience working ideally in Logistic infrastructure, development, and/or construction industry.
- Experience using MS Excel, CAD/BIM related software's, MS Project.
- Knowledge about automated material handling systems, packaging technologies and storage solutions.
- Technical (written and verbal) English communication skills.
- Experience working for a diverse multi-disciplined company.
- The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and clients.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a constantly changing environment.
