Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Assessing project requirements, breaking projects into tasks, and working with Project Managers to determine the scope of work.
- Writing scopes of work for mechanical designs (including equipment, utilities, and process pipework systems) based on preliminary review and client meetings.
- Preparing engineering studies and schematic designs for new equipment, utilities, and process pipework systems, and analyzing the operation of existing systems.
- Working with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to design standards is required.
- Conducting and reviewing the work of the project design teams, checking the progress of the work, and alerting Project Managers of scope changes or additional services.
- Reviewing contractor applications for payments and maintaining an understanding of the construction process associated with equipment, utilities, and process pipework systems.
- Coordinating all aspects of project document completion within our organization, externally with clients, and with other relevant design professionals.
- Preparing or reviewing construction budgets based on the project scope.
- Developing and promoting the use of our design and production standards.
