Process Architecture Director

At IPS, we are seeking a highly skilled Process Architecture Director to lead our team in delivering innovative solutions for pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.


The successful candidate will have extensive experience in process architecture design, with a strong understanding of GMP regulations and international building codes. They will be responsible for managing a team of professionals, ensuring consistent high-quality deliverables, and supporting business development initiatives.


Key responsibilities will include:



  • Coordinating with project managers and discipline directors to determine project scope, complexity, and planning requirements.
  • Assigning personnel to provide cost-effective design and technical support.
  • Defining cost-effective workflow processes and design detail levels to achieve project goals.
  • Estimating work hours to generate project deliverables and support the design team.
  • Developing the process architecture strategic business plan in concert with overall group and company planning efforts.
  • Performing various personnel functions, including hiring, performance appraisal, salary position recommendations, and employee development.
  • Evaluating and initiating training for process architects to ensure technical competence, social/communication skills, and personal development of leadership.
  • Assisting in the development and coordination of divisional and inter-departmental policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Contributing to the preparation and delivery of sales presentations and proposals.
  • Coordinating and taking ownership of Master Planning, Feasibility Studies, and Conceptual Design.
  • Defining design philosophies and facility design parameters.
  • Working with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception of building codes is required.
  • Coordinating all aspects of project document completion within the company, and externally with clients, and other design professionals.
  • Preparing or reviewing construction budgets based on experience and scope of the project.

Qualifications and Requirements:



  • 15+ years of process architecture design experience within the pharmaceutical industry, preferably with experience in oral solid dosage, aseptic, and biologics.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in Architecture (registered architect preferred).
  • Extensive GMP design experience, including US and international regulations.
  • Proven experience leading conceptual design efforts.
  • Knowledge of applicable building codes and proficiency in CAD operations (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.).
  • Ability to interpret a building program and generate varied design concepts.
  • International work experience, ideally in Denmark or European geographies.

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Fluency in English and Danish.

  • Travel based on project location. This position is a safety-sensitive position.
