About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Developer to join our team at ABB. As a Senior Software Developer for Multimedia Processing, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing software using C#, with a particular focus on multimedia processing through FFmpeg. You will play a key role in enhancing and maintaining the ABB 800xA system, ensuring it meets the highest standards of performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement system architectures and drive software projects from concept to completion.
  • Develop and integrate web services (APIs, REST, gRPC) to ensure seamless operation within industrial automation systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and ensure that quality, scope, and cost targets are met.
  • Manage knowledge documentation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and innovation within the team.
  • Safeguard intellectual property (IP) and manage IP risks to ensure ABB's strategic position in the market is strengthened.

Requirements

  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in C# programming and a deep understanding of FFmpeg for multimedia processing.
  • A strong foundation in system architecture and design.
  • Proven track record of independently managing and executing complex software projects.
  • Experience with the ABB 800xA system or similar industrial automation systems.
  • Proficiency in developing web services, including APIs, REST, and gRPC, as well as solid experience with SQL databases.
  • Familiarity with tools like Git and DevOps practices.
